Last updated Milebit, Inc.
Milebit, Inc. allows you to delete your account and the personal data associated with it. You can do this in the app, from any browser, or by contacting us via email.
Open the Milebit app.
Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account.
Confirm your decision.
What happens next:
Your account is deactivated immediately. You are signed out, and your profile stops being visible to other drivers.
If you work for a carrier that uses Milebit, your request goes to that carrier for a decision first. The 30 days below start only after it approves. Until then nothing is deleted, and you can withdraw the request by signing in again.
You have 30 days to change your mind. Simply sign back in with the same phone number, Google account, or Apple account and everything is restored — profile, documents, routes, trucks and friends. No email to support is required.
After those 30 days, the personal data associated with your account is permanently and irreversibly erased, including:
Your profile information (name, email, phone number, photos)
Documents you uploaded and their files (CDL, medical card, damage photos)
Saved routes and trip data
Private messages and chat participation
Community posts, comments and reactions
Friends list, contact-book uploads and social connections
Fuel cards, fuel plans and saved devices
Location history and last known position
Copies held in our encrypted backups are cycled out and destroyed within 90 days.
If the app is no longer installed, use our account deletion page at api.milebit.io/delete-account/. You verify your phone number by SMS and delete the account there. The timeline is exactly the same as in the app: 30 days to change your mind, then permanent erasure.
If you cannot access either the app or the deletion page, you may request account deletion by email:
Send an email to: legal@milebit.io
Use the subject line: "Account Deletion Request"
Include the email address or phone number associated with your Milebit, Inc. account.
Processing Timeline:
Receipt confirmation: We will acknowledge your request within 48 hours.
Identity verification: Up to 7 business days. We may ask for additional information to verify your identity.
Account deactivation: Immediate upon verification.
Data erasure: Within 30 days of deactivation; backup copies within 90 days, in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable laws.
If you drive for a carrier that uses Milebit, your driver records are also part of your employer's records — hire and termination dates, assignments to their trucks and trailers, work orders and inspections they are legally required to keep.
For that reason, when you request deletion from inside the app, your request is sent to your fleet administrator first. Your account is deactivated right away, and:
You can cancel the request at any time before they decide, simply by signing back in. While the request is pending, no deletion clock is running.
If they approve it, you get a further 30 days to change your mind, after which your personal data is erased as described above.
If they decline it, they must give a reason, you are told what it is, and your account is restored to normal.
Records your carrier is required by law to keep remain in their account under their own retention policy. Contact them directly about those records.
If you no longer work for that carrier, leave the company in Settings → My Company first; after that you can delete your account without anyone's approval.
Certain data is retained after deletion, either because the law requires it or because it belongs to someone else as much as to you:
Billing and transaction records (as required for tax and accounting compliance), kept in anonymized form
Road hazard reports, weigh station updates and shop reviews you contributed — they remain useful to other drivers, and they are shown without your name
Repair and service history with a shop, which is also that business's record of the transaction
Employment records held by your carrier, as described above
Data necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce agreements
None of the retained data identifies you: your name, email, phone number and photos are removed from our systems and cannot be recovered. Retained data is kept in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data retention laws, and is deleted when no longer legally required.
