If it doesn't match — stop and call your broker. 🔒 Seal & SLC Seal number must match. If you can't count or inspect the load, write "SLC" (Shipper Load and Count) on the BOL before you leave. No SLC = you're liable for shortages. 📸 Damage? Document it. Take photos. Add specific notes. Get the receiver's signature. If you don't document it, it becomes your problem. More than you think. When you hand over your ELD data at a roadside inspection, the officer can review your current day plus the previous 7 days — 8 days total. And they cross-check it against GPS, fuel transactions, and weigh station records. They WILL ask for an explanation. ② Log edits — every edit needs a justified reason and annotation. Repeating edits = red flag. 🚩 Since April 2026, CVSA has a new rule: if an inspector finds evidence of ELD tampering — altered GPS, shifted times, fake driver accounts — it's an immediate 10-hour out-of-service order.
